Photo Adventure Overview

During this 12 day Photography Adventure, we will visit the most photogenic locations in Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, as well as Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina.

This Patagonia photo adventure is all about chasing and capturing the most breathtaking moments of light the Southern Andes have to offer — from fiery sunrises over Mount Fitz Roy to dramatic lenticular clouds swirling above the granite horns of Torres del Paine. We’ll stay in well-located, comfortable accommodations near the heart of the action, allowing us to rest well, eat well, and spend more time where it matters most — out in the field, photographing Patagonia’s most iconic and awe-inspiring landscapes

Sarah and Trent will personally help you capture the best possible images, show you the best techniques to shoot any subject and polish off your images with in depth post processing sessions.

2026 Patagonia Adventure Itinerary

Our itinerary for this photo adventure is intentionally flexible. Patagonia’s weather is famously unpredictable — it’s not uncommon to experience all four seasons in a single day. But it’s this ever-changing weather that gives the region its legendary drama and atmosphere. With our deep local knowledge, we’ll adapt each day to chase the best conditions, ensuring you’re always in the right place at the right time. Expect early starts to make the most of the magical morning light, when the landscape comes alive with color, contrast, and mood

Day 1 – Welcome to Patagonia
Our adventure begins with a pickup at Puerto Natales Airport (or your local accommodation) around 1:00pm. We’ll enjoy lunch in town and have time to grab any last-minute essentials — whether it’s snacks, gear, or an extra layer for the ever-changing Patagonian weather.

From there, we’ll take a scenic 1.5-hour drive to our hotel on the edge of Torres del Paine National Park. Be ready — there will be jaw-dropping photo opportunities along the way, so keep your camera close!

After settling into your room, we’ll gather for a welcome drink and an informal meet-and-greet. Sarah and Trent will introduce the team, walk you through the plan for the days ahead, and answer any questions.

By around 6:00pm, we’ll head out to a nearby viewpoint to capture our first Patagonian sunset — and hopefully, our first golden light on the iconic Towers. Sarah and Trent will be on hand to assist with lens choices, exposure settings, and creative composition tips.

After sunset, we’ll return to our accommodation for a relaxed group dinner. It’s the perfect chance to connect with your fellow photographers, share a toast, and get excited for the journey ahead.

Day 2 to Day 4 - Torres del Paine National Park

For the first portion of our journey, we’ll be based just outside Torres del Paine National Park, giving us prime access to one of the most photogenic landscapes on Earth. With incredible flexibility and deep local knowledge, we’ll plan each shoot around the weather and light — adjusting daily to make the most of changing conditions.

Most locations are just a short drive and an easy walk from our hotel, allowing us to reach stunning photo spots quickly and comfortably. Over the next four days, we’ll explore a wide variety of scenes — from mirror-like reflections of Los Cuernos and the vibrant blues of Laguna Amarga and Laguna Azul, to the haunting Dead Forest, turquoise glacial lakes, thundering waterfalls, and panoramic mountain vistas painted with autumn color. We may even sneak in some dramatic seascapes if conditions allow.

Along the way, keep your eyes open for local wildlife: graceful guanacos, soaring condors, flocks of flamingos, foxes, and possibly even the elusive puma. Torres del Paine offers not only breathtaking landscapes, but also moments of wild, unscripted beauty — perfect for capturing truly unique images.

Every day is a new opportunity to chase light and capture Patagonia’s wild beauty at its best.

Shooting Locations could include: Lago Pehoé, Mirador Rio Serrano, Salto Grande, Dead Trees, Mirador Cuernos, Mirador Condores, Lago Grey, Laguna Amarga, Lago Nordenskjöld.

Day 5 - To Argentina!

On our final morning in Torres del Paine, we’ll head back into the park to capture one last sunrise — weather permitting — and soak in the incredible landscape one more time under that magical Patagonian light.

After breakfast and packing up, we’ll begin our scenic journey across the border into Argentina. Our destination is El Calafate, where we’ll settle in for the night. If the skies look promising, we’ll head out to a nearby location for one final sunset shoot — because in Patagonia, the light is always worth chasing.

Day 6 - El Chalten Awaits!

We’ll enjoy a relaxed morning over breakfast, followed by a post-processing session where we’ll dive into editing techniques — reviewing images from the past few days and exploring ways to bring out the best in your files.

Later in the morning, we’ll head into town for a casual lunch and coffee before hitting the road for one of South America’s most iconic drives: the legendary Ruta 40. The journey to El Chaltén offers expansive views, wide-open skies, and a growing sense of anticipation as the Fitz Roy massif begins to rise on the horizon.

After checking into our hotel and settling in, we’ll head straight back out to capture one of Patagonia’s most iconic scenes — the famous road leading into El Chaltén with Mount Fitz Roy towering at the end. It’s an unforgettable place to catch the evening light.

After sunset, we’ll enjoy a delicious dinner at one of El Chaltén’s local steakhouses, and then settle in for a well-earned rest — the real adventure begins tomorrow.

Day 6 to 11. Exploring El Chalten

Our time in El Chaltén will be all about immersing ourselves in the rugged beauty of the Fitz Roy range and its surrounding wilderness. Each day will be tailored around the weather and light, with the flexibility to adapt our plans as needed. Most shooting days will include moderate hikes — anywhere from 4 to 9 kilometers one way — to reach some of the region’s most photogenic and lesser-travelled locations.

We’ll chase light through a diverse range of landscapes: sunrise sessions at Laguna Torre and Laguna Capri, secret waterfalls and mossy cascades tucked into the forest, skeletal trees in wind-swept alpine clearings, and expansive mountain views from lesser-known trails. One day will take us out to Lago del Desierto, where the reflections, fall foliage, and glacial backdrops offer endless creative possibilities.

Along the way, we’ll keep an eye out for local fauna — including curious Andean foxes, soaring condors, and a variety of birdlife like the iconic Magellanic woodpecker and noisy caracaras. With golden autumn light, dramatic peaks, and a group of passionate photographers, every day in El Chaltén promises both challenge and reward in equal measure.

Shooting locations could include: Laguna Torre, Laguna Capri, Laguna de Las tres, Laguna Suicia, Secret Waterfalls, Cascades, Chorillo del Salto, Lago Del Desierto, Canyons and many more.

Day 12 - Our Final Day

On our final morning together, we’ll rise early for one last sunrise shoot at a nearby canyon — a peaceful, rugged location with rich textures and soft morning light, perfect for a reflective end to our adventure.

After breakfast and packing up, we’ll say our goodbyes to El Chaltén and begin the drive back to El Calafate, where we’ll enjoy a relaxed lunch in town to celebrate the journey we’ve shared. This officially marks the end of the workshop.

If you need a drop-off at your hotel in El Calafate, just let us know. For those returning to Puerto Natales, you’re welcome to join us for the scenic drive back across the border.

You’ll leave Patagonia with a heart full of memories, new friendships forged in the wild, and a collection of portfolio-worthy images that tell the story of your time in one of the most breathtaking corners of the world.

Accommodation

For the first four nights, we’ll be based at a beautiful hotel in Rio Serrano, right on the doorstep of Torres del Paine National Park. This prime location offers easy access to key shooting spots—perfect for catching dramatic light and stunning scenery with minimal travel time. On night five, we’ll stay in El Calafate, where you’ll have time to unwind and enjoy a dedicated morning session focused on post-processing techniques. The remainder of the trip will be spent in a comfortable hotel in El Chaltén, ideally located for exploring some of Patagonia’s most iconic trails and photo opportunities.

When we’re not out capturing images or relaxing at the hotel, we’ll dive into educational sessions covering creative techniques, composition strategies, and image critiques. We’ll also scout new locations together, ensuring you leave with both memorable images and new skills to take your photography further.
